Essence

Essence is a Sunday note about writing, books, films, photographs, and ordinary life.

It gathers what I have been working on: essays, fiction, fragments, poems, photographs, slow video, and notes from the week. It also includes what I have been reading, watching, noticing, or returning to: a passage from a book, a scene from a film, a photograph, a sentence, a room, a walk, or a small problem in the work.

Some weeks it is brief. Some weeks it takes more space.

It is not a roundup or a newsletter in the usual sense. It is a record of attention: what stayed, what opened, what taught me something about writing, looking, craft, or ordinary life.
